New years 2025

Updated: Jan 2

Hello... and a fond farewell

Hey there – I’m coach Sara and welcome to my blog! Each week I’ll write about what’s on my mind, as well as trying to provide some clarity around the ideas I discuss frequently with my clients and podcast guests: change, thriving (and the exploration model I developed) and how to build a community for support during periods of uninitiated transformation.

And let’s be clear: We are about to enter one of those periods! The next president will be sworn in a few weeks from now and it’s a disheartening-to-terrifying prospect for so many of us. In fact, it is this looming change and uncertainty that gave me the motivation to get this project off the ground. I have been watching a lot of great people cowed into obliviousness with their grief and fear, and I simply REFUSE to go quietly into that bad night! I believe there are tactics we can employ to thrive through this change like any other. We can’t let our fear or exhaustion get the best of us now. We are vital and necessary to the moment to come. Now is the time to strengthen our reserves and find those with whom we want to lock arms, to focus on our own change journeys, and all ways we can become the change we want to see in the world.

So, I believe in change and community and rising phoenix-like from the ashes of our past selves to thrive in whatever life we design for ourselves. My passion is to help others discover, design and realize the lives they desire with my experience personally and professionally realizing significant change. I also recognize that none of us are an island; we are better, stronger and able to realize our best when we come together as a community. Beyond coach and change manager, I am also a step-parent, wife, sister, cousin, friend and dog-mom, an avid traveler, reader and haunted house enthusiast. I love snorkeling, snow tubing, live theater, and walking through the woods in any season. I look forward to sharing my ideas and passions with you, and hearing from your places of deep expertise as well.

On this first day of 2025 I am excited about the possibilities to come, but also still mourning the incredible loss of President Jimmy Carter. He was the greatest among us, a true humanitarian who was ALWAYS true to his ideals. I find the story inherently fascinating – an unknown who realized the highest office in the land, only to eclipse this accomplishment with his works post-presidency. It’s a powerful reminder that when you’re on the right path and following your personal north star, there is no limit to what you can accomplish. He eradicated disease, touched countless lives, enjoyed a decades-long true love story and broke the mold for philanthropy, inspiring entire generations to be better. He may not have accomplished for the world everything he set out to do in his 4 years as the most powerful man on earth, but he managed to accomplish infinitely more as a regular citizen quietly doing good works. It is an important message that we should all keep close in the coming months and years: we are all so much powerful than we may believe! Thank you, Jimmy Carter! You will be missed but not forgotten.

Again, I look forward to sharing more about me and teh pivotal moments of change that have made all the difference in my life and career, and learning from your change stories as well. Click here if you’d like to join me for a conversation on the podcast!
